New Camera Video and Some Film Stills 18/08/2010

As promised some video from today (don't judge me by my poor skills, I've got to learn a lot)

 Slightly excited about this wave.
They don't call it "boogie" boarding for nothing.
 The view from inside
It was about 2 foot on the larger waves today, been missing my surfing.
The exit, not reached on this ride.

Shark Island/Cronulla Point - NEW Underwater Camera! 18/08/2010

I bought a new camera for my birthday and got to test it out today. Its a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT2 - 14MP, 28mm wide to 128mm, HD video (not full HD 1280x720) waterproof to 10m, shockproof to 2m, temperature proof to freezing cold or something.

I paddled out shark island to see if I could get some tubes and photograph from inside the barrel, its harder than you think... was a little more successful with video which I'll post something up soon.

I then walked around the point and stuck the camera in any puddle  I thought interesting; its another world under there.

I think I'm going to enjoy my new toy :)

Garie to Era 12/08/2010

The walk from Garie to Era in the Royal National Park is beautiful. Look East and the ocean is there, if there's swell, the sandbanks are almost guaranteed to produce amazing waves at many different locations (due to semi permanent banks on rockbeds). Look West and large cliffs eroding with the assault of ocean and wind sit boldly full of colour and texture. I love shooting down here.
